My husband Frank and I are the same age.

We’ve been dating since high school.

I’ve always considered health and fitness a big priority in my life. Along with keeping up with my children’s activities, working a full-time job and managing the household responsibilities, I’ve set aside time to workout every morning. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve had to work harder to maintain my same weight and keep in shape. I’ve become more careful about what I eat. I’ve quit eating any kind of fast food, processed food or sweet snacks. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol and pop. I’ve added a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts and lean proteins into my diet. I’ve limited the amount of pasta, cheese and red meats I eat. When I get up in the morning, I make time to spend a minimum of an hour on various types of high intensity cardio exercise. I go for jogs, bike rides, swim, kayak and jump rope. Because of this, I’ve never suffered any extreme health concerns. I’ve kept strong and haven’t needed to give up my favorite activities in life. My husband is unwilling to workout. I can’t convince him to stretch a little bit or even go for a walk with me after dinner. He drinks a great deal of coffee, smokes cigarettes and normally eats a steak for dinner. He’s put on quite a bit of weight. He frequently complains about back aches, sore joints and painful feet. We’re 56 years old right now. I’m concerned about my husband’s future health, overall wellness and quality of life. I plan to take very good care of myself and refuse to slow down. I don’t know how to convince my husband to make positive changes in his lifestyle.
