I signed up for gymnastic lessons when I was just a toddler.

  • Right away, I showed a natural affinity for it and just loved everything about the sport.

As I grew older, my passion for gymnastics only increased. I spent as much time as possible at the gym, working on more difficult and demanding skills. During high school as well as college, I kept up with my training and frequently competed with a team. Gymnastics is an extremely strenuous athletic interest. It demands high levels of strength, flexibility and endurance. While the routines are brief, they are intense. I needed to keep myself in top physical condition. I practiced for at least three hours every day and was extremely conscientious about my meal plan. After graduating college and starting my career, I was no longer able to spend quite so much time on my gymnastic skills. However, I’ve continued to utilize the same style of training in my daily workouts. I still work on handstands, bridges, walkovers, back tucks, back handsprings and aerial cartwheels. These different tricks target all different types of muscles and strength. I always increase my heart rate and end up drenched in sweat. At the conclusion of an hour, I’m always exhausted and breathing hard. Although I’m no longer planning to compete, I hope to achieve new skills. It’s important to keep my body toned and strong. I am unwilling to gain any weight. While I frequently receive some curious looks from people who see me doing handstands during my workout, I’m proud of the skills I’ve accomplished. As I get older, I will need to change the workout. Some day, I won’t be able to train at the same level. For as long as possible, I plan to use gymnastics as my main form of exercise.
