It would be a shocking number to discover how many times I have joined a gym only to lose motivation and quit going.

What’s worse is the amount of money I have poured into this hapless cycle.

It happens to me after each new year comes around. I feel the urge to get serious about getting in shape and go down to the local gym to sign up. After a month or two of weight lifting, my time in my local gym always dwindled down to nothing. This happened over and over and over. I just wish I knew back then what I am fully aware of now regarding health and wellness. Another visit to the doctor resulted in a serious talk about my poor fitness and health. I gave him the same sound bites about joining the local gym but sticking with it this time. That was just not going to fly this time around. My doctor actually gave me the number and a recommendation for a local health and fitness center. He told me that he would be following up with them to see if I joined up. That suddenly reinforced the seriousness of what my health and fitness situation actually was. I went to the health and fitness center. And to my total surprise, they knew my name and had been looking for me. I got my gym membership on the spot. I was also assigned a personal trainer. This was the missing element. The fitness coaching was what I had needed in all those other failed gym memberships. After just a few months of work, I have begun to fully embrace the wellness and fitness aspect of living. It is nearly incalculable how valuable the fitness coaching has been to my success and motivation.
