I work in a hotel reception as a customer service attendant.

One of my job descriptions is to ensure that the rooms have a functioning air conditioner system.

We have an in-house cooling and heating provider who has been working for us for the last year. He has been in the cooling industry for ten years. Recently, an air conditioner install of a new HVAC in the new hotel rooms was added. Apparently, the management hired a new contractor. They felt that with the premises’ growth, one air conditioning professional could not handle the whole hotel. During the weekend, bookings are at a high peak. This was still the case last weekend when I was on the night shift. At midnight, a call came in from one of the rooms complaining about the poor air quality and the room not warming up. I quickly called the a/crepairman to go and check what could be wrong. I was nervous because the rooms were full, and I could not give the client a room change. The technician checked the thermostat and confirmed that the blower was running, but no heat was produced. He quickly figured the problem could be the air filter. He replaced it and had the system back to normal. After the replacement, the ambiance changed for the better, and there was no need for furnace/heater repair as I had imagined. The technician later informed me that the homeowner solutions cover had expired, and there was a need to renew it with the HVAC company. This always comes in handy because, in case of a major problem, the cost is covered by the air conditioning business.
