I could make that ADA compliant update to my residence just in case I need to use a wheelchair

I am now living in the same house I obtained when I was in our mid-thirties, and my intention is to retire in that same house, and now that I am twenty years older than I was when I obtained the house, I am start to think more about making some necessary ADA critical updates, but for example, there may come a time when I need to use a wheelchair, but despite the fact that our house is not a public building, and therefore isn’t required to have the same kinds of ADA compliant updates, there is nothing wrong with having them in a residence. If I do need to use a wheelchair, some ADA compliant updates that would be important would end up involving being able to get into the bathroom and also maneuver around enough with a wheelchair to be able to use the bathroom, and also, in some public buildings, they simply have wider door frames for wheelchairs. I could make that ADA compliant update to my residence just in case I need to use a wheelchair. Also, I have a few steps that must be ascended and descended at the front door; What is to stop myself and others from drawing from other people’s ADA compliant updates and putting in some ramps next to the stairs or simply replacing the steps with a ramp? I learned through my sister who made some ADA compliant updates to her house that the most popular change renovators are seeing is people putting in ADA compliant toilets in their bathrooms. I was thinking that is a nice idea; they are not much different than any other toilet, however they just stand taller up off the floor.
