I needed to make an advertisement for a school project. I decided early on to make a collage, and started digging through some of our parent’s magazines. I found the perfect 1 which had a orange and white theme, and a bunch of machines on it, and these machines were a/cs and heating units. I decided since there was an entire magazine dedicated to them, that I would make our project about air conditioning and heating. I pretended I was our own HVAC business and cut out a lot of the pictures in the magazines of the HVAC devices. I made a sizable poster board and pasted on the unusual heating and cooling mechanisms on unusual spots. I also made up prices as I went, when the project due date came, I presented our make believe HVAC dealer, and it was a success and even had a few “clients” line up and want the HVAC technology. I loved the rest of class seeing other student’s presentations and knowing mine was 1 of the best and most convincing. After the presentations, I received our grade and it was a 100! My professor complimented me on our skills, however told me to be careful about plagiarism. When I went lake condo that evening, I was quite proud of our project; My mom, however, was less than glad. Apparently, there was a coupon in that magazine for 20% HVAC repairs that I accidently cut out. Whoops. My mom was mad for awhile, however later found a better deal for 30% off, so it all worked out well in the end.
