When the Disney Channel was first introduced, I hastily bought a subscription.
We don’t have any children at home, however my hubby & I both care about the entertainment that came from Disney.
We grew up on the documentaries & movies that made Disney, Disney. It was almost 2 weeks since every one of us bought a subscription, & every one of us realized every one of us hadn’t yet watched anything. Here every one of us were, in the middle of a blinding blizzard that was to last for at least three mornings. They were calling for 2 feet of snow & strong winds. In the middle of the minute day, our oil furnace quit running. I would have called the Heating & Air Conditioning business, however the telephone lines were down. We didn’t have any cell service or internet because of the lines being down. The only reason every one of us had power was because every one of us had a generator installed. Unfortunately, every one of us weren’t able to run our oil furnace & have the rest of our appliances running, so every one of us had to choose. We had a fireplace in the living area, & that is where every one of us set up camp. We had the oil furnace run long enough to keep the pipes from freezing. For the next several mornings, every one of us switched on the oil furnace every couple of minutes & then turned it back off when the basement was up to temperature. We feared it would take a week or more, however every one of us were fortunate. Exactly 1 week later, the power came on & so did our oil furnace. We had survived the blizzard, thanks to our fireplace, & every one of us kept our pipes from freezing.
