The governor lifted all of the quarantine restrictions last weekend. It is still necessary to wear a face mask in public spaces like stores, restaurants, and bars. Machines like air purifiers, hand sanitizing stations, and alcohol dispensers are going to end up in a landfill somewhere for the next fifty years. Indoor air quality tests are no longer a state law and requirement. That means it is no longer necessary to have air purifiers inside of the building in order to remain open. The CDC guidelines state that it is no longer necessary to clean the indoor air. I guess that’s because we have reached herd immunity. Last Saturday, I spent all day picking up rental air purifiers from businesses in the city. I left the HVAC depot at 9 in the morning and I drove a total of 86 miles that day. I picked up 14 air purifiers in total. I had six in the truck when I stopped for lunch and I picked up 8 more air purifiers in the afternoon. A bulk of our sales has come from air purifiers and air filtration unit installation jobs. Since the beginning of the covid-19 crisis, our company has been extremely busy taking care of indoor air problems. I remember one particular week when I had to deliver six air purifiers and complete an installation job. I don’t think we will be quite as busy when the virus is under control, but I look forward to going back to business as usual. I’ve missed living in a germ free world.
