I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life until I went to summer camp.
- I met a good pal there who was all about HVAC.
It’s all he talked about for the most part, but he was a funny guy and he made a good friend. He kept saying that we had to get a good HVAC system installed at the camp so it would be more comfortable for everyone. We made the request to the counselors for improved HVAC but they said it would cost too much money which they didn’t have. Then my buddy came up with the idea to do a fundraiser. The counselors thought it wouldn’t raise nearly enough money, but it actually did. A lot of people were willing to help support the summer camp and we actually sold UV air purifiers to people for double the cost in an effort to raise the needed funds. People were buying our UV air purifiers by the dozens! My buddy called it, he said UV air purification is hot right now because people don’t like getting sick and the UV light helps eliminate dangerous pathogens. Before I knew it, we came up with enough funds to get ductless mini splits installed in the different cabins and we were able to install solar panel systems to power the systems. They don’t use a tremendous amount of energy because they are so energy efficient. After all this and seeing the benefits from our hard work with perfect temperature control settings and comfort, I realized that I wanted to be an HVAC professional when I graduated from school.
