When I told my friend I needed help with indoor comfort, he said he would bring over some wine. I wanted to tell him that wasn’t what I was talking about, but he already hung up the phone. By the time he showed up, he had two bottles of wine and a couple of wine glasses. I still thought it was a little too early in the afternoon to start drinking, but I figured what the hell. We started drinking some wine and I was telling him about how the air quality in my home was lacking and it always seemed too humid. He said there were numerous ways to help improve the air quality for excellent indoor comfort. He said I could invest in a new air purification system. He said a quality one would use HEPA filters which pull 99.9% of contaminants from the air. I thought that sounded pretty nice, but had to be very expensive also. He agreed and said they definitely cost a small fortune. He said I could always upgrade the air filters I was using in my HVAC system. He said it would be great if I could use HEPA filters but I had to know for sure that my HVAC system could handle it. When he asked me what kind of air filters I was using, I was ashamed to admit that I always bought whatever was on sale. I had some of the cheapest air filters that were ever made and my buddy said this was a big problem. I ended up getting some nice air filters with a good MERV rating. My buddy explained to me the best rated air filters and this would be the perfect first step towards better indoor comfort with improved air quality.
