When you become an adult, you get bombarded with all kinds of advertisements. On a daily basis, I would say that I get at least twenty advertisements via mail or email and they range in topics from lifestyle, home improvement, food, and beauty. I normally delete all the junk right away because I don’t want it cluttering my mind and space. The other day though, I received an email advertisement and I almost threw it out thinking it was useless to me. Right before I tossed it in the trash, I saw that it was an advertisement from the local HVAC company that I used. They were sending me a reminder about the seasonal change and how it was a good time to schedule my furnace tune up. I appreciated the reminder, but I was more drawn to the annual comfort plan they were advertising at the bottom. I didn’t know this, but the HVAC company had an annual HVAC plan that I could sign up for and it sounded brilliant. I paid one fee and I would receive two HVAC tune ups per year, a discount on parts, a discount on labor, and priority scheduling. I thought this sounded wonderful and I didn’t want to miss out on it! I called the number at the bottom of the advertisement to schedule my HVAC tune up and also join their annual HVAC maintenance plan. I couldn’t believe that I always threw out that advertisement thinking that it was junk mail!
