I like to run for exercise.

I usually run for at least three miles and have a regular route I follow.

When I turn out of my driveway, I don’t have a lot of choices for where to run. Because I’m always following the same path, the workout can become stale and boring. After a while, I have trouble motivating myself. I realized that my speed had tapered off by quite a bit. I was running less frequently. A couple of months ago, a friend of mine suggested a running app that she’d downloaded on her phone. She said that using the app had worked to improve her times and stamina. I looked into it and saw that the app is free. After downloading it onto my phone, I needed to fill out some personal information. I typed in my gender, height, weight and age. The app then started tracking my runs. At the conclusion of a run, it provides an account of my accomplishment. I can check the distance traveled, average pace and calories burned. Throughout the run, a voice breaks into the music playing through my headphones and provides information. It supplies my average pace which motivates me to run faster. The app gets me working to beat my personal best. I am always striving to increase time and distance. I can also access my past history and find out the total miles I’ve run during a week, month or all-time. I share my stats with friends and family. The app has been wonderful for motivation. I’ve never been all that fast of a runner. I’ve concentrated on putting in long distances. Since the app, I’ve increased my speed by quite a bit.
