Didn’t these local service providers not realize that some of our equipment was special. I had patched it up so much you would think I had salvaged it from a battlefield. Regular HVAC maintenance would not do. It had to be tweaked and proceeded with caution. If the HVAC technician were even a bit more zealous as he worked on it, it would disintegrate into pieces that would make a scrap metal collector proud. This piece of artifact requires a hand that not only knows more about HVAC but one that is slow and steady, fervor notwithstanding. The air conditioning expert must be seasoned by age and understand the mechanism of an old soul for them to provide it with quality ac service. It is a miracle that they still have the right ac filter for it in the market. The prospect of adding an indoor air cleaning system to it would prove to be too much for the poor fellow, so I had opted to buy an air purifier to help with air quality. Ductwork cleaning had improved the situation, but it still required a lot more to be desired. I still have no idea why I hold onto the old piece of equipment. It is like a toxic relationship that has gone on long enough that both parties have gotten accustomed to the routine that it has become their new regular. The abuse does not hurt any less, but it has become a dull ache.
