I live in a part of the country where winters are particularly brutal.

Snow will cover the ground far too often, and the roads and bridges will ice up. Besides making traveling on my morning commute to work far more hazardous, the fun begins long before I ever even pull out of my driveway. And by fun, I of course mean the hassle! For one thing, the heater in my house just doesn’t seem to reach the bathroom as well as the other parts of my home. So, I have to bring my space heater into the bathroom with me when I take a shower. It’s the only way I can prevent shivering to pieces when I step out of the shower! Then, there’s the whole thing with making sure the car is ready to go long before you actually leave. People who live in warmer climates may never have to do this, but it’s actually necessary for you to start your car long before you intend to leave in the winter time in cold areas. This is because it takes a good long while for the engine to warm the car, much less have enough residual heat left over for the heater system to work. If all of this sounds like a pain in the butt, it most certainly is! I would much prefer to live in a hotter climate, even if the heat was pretty intense. My only response to the intense heat would be to simply crank up the air conditioner even more. That’s a lot easier than dealing with all the stuff I’ve just described. I could turn up the central air conditioner in my home and I could turn up the air conditioner in my car, and it would work a lot faster!
