We all know how hectic black Friday sales are for the store staff and customers. Everyone is usually rushing to get the products on sale, and the store staff tries to maintain order but fails every time. Christmas sales are similar. Everyone is hurrying to do their last-minute shopping, leading to stores filling up with customers all day long. Since it is winter during Christmas, the HVAC businesses and their HVAC repairman get busy trying to provide help with indoor comfort for their customers. Last year, I got to experience both worlds. We received a call from a store, and they needed to check the HVAC unit because they were entering Christmas sales week. Since we had numerous scheduled jobs and we worked with the first come, first served policy, it took us time to attend to the store’s request. When we finally got to it, the sale was in progress. We got to the store early in the morning to find it packed with shoppers. The quality HVAC equipment was at the back of the store. The manager explained how old the HVAC system was and when the HVAC installation occurred. The information gave us a brief unit history, and from there, we proceeded with proper HVAC maintenance. While we worked on the quality HVAC unit, we could hear the shoppers going about their business. We needed to replace several worn-out parts, so we contacted the HVAC provider. I remember going out the door to get the delivery, and the store was twice as full of shoppers as it was when we arrived. It had not been a hustle for the HVAC professional to get new HVAC equipment since the HVAC brands were common in the area. We also upgraded the regulator to a smart thermostat.
