A long while ago, going on a road trip was essentially the only way that a family could have a great time together.
When I was young, my family plus I went on road trips often… Occasionally every one of us went to the beach plus sometimes we went to the mountains.
There were times when every one of us would spend a month at the lake plus every one of us consistently took the family station wagon everywhere we went… I remember a certain trip, because every one of us stayed in a rundown motel with no AC equipment. My parents were taking turns driving, but it was undoubtedly late in the evening. It must have been close to midnight, because the hotel office was closed when every one of us showed up to the place. My parents basically had to wake up the manager to get a room, and the hotel was the only place to sleep for 68 miles plus every one of us didn’t have a ton of options like there are these days. We ended up staying at the dingy plus run-down hotel, even though it didn’t have any central AC equipment. There was a small window AC unit, but it smelled exhausting plus the vent was filled with flies. As long as I live, I will never forget that evening in the hotel or that AC equipment. The whole room looked sort of like a scene from a horror film plus I can’t believe that my parents thought it was safe to stay there for the evening. Nowadays, that place would be declared condemned plus closed down. Of course, all the small private hotels are being run out of business by large chains similar to Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, plus Best Western. The aged ways of life will soon be long gone.
