I was getting ready to go to Vow Renewal.

For my twenty-fifth anniversary, my husband asked me to marry him again.

You can only imagine how excited I was. When we got married the first time, he cut his hair for me. Then he threw his ponytail in my face, laughed, and asked if I wanted to do this thing. The day of our wedding, we had a blizzard that dropped twelve inches of snow in the matter of a couple hours. None of our guests arrived, but my parents and my children. We got married by the local Justice of the Peace because the snowstorm stranded the minister at his house. When he asked me to ‘do this thing again’, he got down on his knee and gave me an Eternity ring. I wanted to go all out, since my original wedding ended up with me in leggings and a heavy sweater since the temperature had dropped to minus eight degrees. I now had an off-white gown, and I wanted to look perfect. My daughter took me to the salon, and I got the works. They did my nails, toenails, and they even waxed my eyebrows. I had never had my eyebrows waxed, but I had burned my fingers on wax. I was worried about the waxing because I didn’t want to show up at my Vow Renewal with burnt eyebrows. It surprised me at how gentle the woman was. She had the waxing done in minutes, and I had to admit that I looked amazing. It overwhelmed my husband with how beautiful he thought I was. I think I’ll have waxing done for often.
