A long time ago, going on a road trip was pretty much the only way that a family could appreciate time together.
When I was young, my family plus I went on road trips always, but periodically every one of us made the decision to go to the beach plus occasionally every one of us made the decision to go to the mountains. Sporadically every one of us would actually spend a week at the lake plus every one of us always took the family station wagon everywhere that every one of us went. I honestly remember a certain trip in particular, because every one of us stayed in a rundown motel with no AC machine. My mom plus dad were taking turns driving, however it was truly late at night. It must have been close to midnight, because the hotel office was closed when we got there. My dad had to wake up the manager to get a room, and the hotel was the only locale to sleep for 71 miles plus every one of us did not have any other options like today. The bunch of us stayed at the dingy plus run-down hotel, even though it did not have any central AC machine. There was a small window AC unit, however it smelled pretty bad plus the vent was full of flies… As long as I live, I will never forget that night in the hotel or that AC machine. The whole room looked basically like a scene from a horror movie plus I can’t actually believe that our parents thought it was safe to stay there! Nowadays, that locale would be declared condemned plus closed down. Of course, all the small private hotels are being run out of business by the sizable chains like Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, plus Best Western. The seasoned ways of life will soon be gone completely.
