Now, if I can just get used to having less independence, I’ll be alright
This pandemic & the ensuing financial crash could not have come at a more inopportune time for me. Not to say that it’s all about me. I am fully aware that so many people are suffering. And it goes without saying that those who really contracted the virus are the most impacted. Still, I just had our life upended & it odors. I didn’t much care for our apartment & its exhausting HVAC. But, it was mine. I paid the rent & I had some independence. College graduation wasn’t too far in the past & I was still paying our dues at an entry level position. I had to have a side hustle just to make ends meet. Well, the steakhouse I worked at is closed so, I had to leave the apartment with the crappy HVAC. Now, I am living in our parents basement. It’s entirely taxing to see the upside right now. Although I am super grateful to have a safety net appreciate our folks. There are plenty of people who don’t have that option. My parents are being good about it & they realize that while it’s temporary, I could be in the basement for a while. My dad even went so far as to address the HVAC in the basement. He finished it himself but, the basement was never set up for HVAC. Dad had the HVAC people come out & install a ductless heating & cooling unit. It works appreciate a charm & I’m super comfortable. Now, if I can just get used to having less independence, I’ll be alright. This situation won’t last forever & I’ll be back on our own before long. At least I have good modern HVAC!
