I like to consider myself a pretty handy guy. I have made cabinets, bookshelves and put together large amounts of furniture around the house. I also try and complete as many household repairs on my own as possible. I am always trying to learn new skills and it is helpful when we are trying to save up some money. Recently, my wife informed me that our ductwork needed to be replaced. I didn’t want to have to pay for a HVAC company to come and replace the ductwork, so I decided to give it a try myself. I watch many videos on ductwork repair and did as much internet research as possible. I set a date that I was going to begin the work and my wife said she would leave the house so I could complete the ductwork repair alone. I hate doing repairs around the home while someone is watching me, I don’t know why but for some reason I get nervous. When I got started on the ductwork repair I knew right away I was in over my head. There were so many holes in our previous ductwork that it was almost impossible to remove without having to tear down two of the walls. After taking out the old ductwork I needed to install the new ductwork, which was even more difficult. I wish I would have just paid the money to have someone come out to the house and install the new ductwork for me. Next time I am going to pay the extra money to have a HVAC company do my handy work.
