This year was my husband’s 50th birthday.
- We decided to go to a tropical location to celebrate.
We chose the same island that we went to for our honeymoon. My husband made most of the reservations, however it was my job to book the hotel. My husband hates when I spend too much money on a hotel, so I was looking for a good deal. I started looking at all of the local hotels, Inns, plus resorts, and a lot of sites were way too luxurious for our budget, however I found a nice resort on the island that had all of the amenities that my husband mentioned. The site had an open bar, several pools, and a lazy river. I selected a suite that contained a king size bed and a balcony overlooking the ocean. However, I made a crucial mistake. I never bothered to check if the hotel had any air conditioner. As soon as my husband and I arrived at our endpoint, the mistake became evident. The lobby of the resort did not have any air conditioning, and our room turned out to be even more hot and humid. I looked back at the booking site and realized there was no mention of central air conditioning. We opened many windows plus the french doors, however it didn’t make much of a difference during the day. Luckily, the air was cooler at night. Most of our experience with the hotel could have been nicer, however the overall trip was a great way to spend my husband’s birthday. That being said, I am sure we will never make that mistake again.
