I coach a well-regarded high school football team.

While our school is especially small, our teams regularly win championships. My athletes win games because they are in peak physical condition. Getting the boys into their best physical shape takes hard work and non stop effort. We start our program in the pre-season as we gather the team together for training. The practice sessions are long and physically demanding. I am assisted by a staff of knowledgeable coaches who work with the guys and teach them proper strategies for working out and playing on the field. We not only work on the plays we run on the field during games but prepare the guys physically and mentally in every way. We pay close attention to their diets and the hours of rest and sleep they get. We emphasize the importance of drinking sufficient water. The warmup section of their training incorporates the health of their joints and muscles. We target the continual improvement of flexibility and balance to combat potential injury. Through aggressive conditioning, we maximize speed, strength and mobility. We bring the team together as a single unit as each player increases stamina. Over the years, I’ve regularly brought in outside professionals to introduce a new dimension to our practices and conditioning program. I’ve hired a nutritionist to consult with the guys and provide guidance and recommendations to help them eat healthy. I’ve hired a personal trainer to work with them and add new exercises for a greater challenge and versatility. These methods make certain that each athlete is at their best. They become strong, confident and proud. They are less likely to experience fatigue on the field. Even during a challenging game, my guys rise to the occasion. These athletes develop healthy life habits that remain with them as they grow older. They build character and friendships and learn that hard work leads to accomplishments.
