Pride is a crazy thing and most of us don’t realize we have too much until it’s too late.

I was having trouble with the home air conditioner and I was convinced that I could make the repair on my own. My wife wanted to call the HVAC company to make an appointment with a repair technician, but I protested. I read several articles online and I watched a hundred different videos. I was certain that I would be able to fix the air conditioner problem without paying a large repair bill to a certified company. Saturday was my day off work and I got up bright and early in the morning to get started on the project. I had the air conditioner completely apart before noon. I found the part that needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, the hardware store did not have that particular part in stock and I had to order the item from a dealer. My wife was very unhappy when she found out that we would have to wait several days for the repair to be completed. She convinced me to call a professional after three hours of complaining. It was a good thing that I called the HVAC repair center, because I was wrong about the repair problem and my new part would not have fixed the problem anyway. I learned a valuable lesson during the process. Next time I will leave my pride at the door and call a professional heating and cooling company.
