This year has been one thing after another.

It seems like the effects of the pandemic keep coming at us.

Of course, just trying to do the right thing and slow the spread has caused plenty of change for our household. The kids are learning from home. My wife and I are both working from the HVAC comfort of our home office. That home office was just recently a guest room. But thus far, we are dealing with the changes in the best way we know how. And that’s really all anyone can ask for. While it hasn’t been easy, we have persevered. It was easily the warmest office I have ever worked in. My wife and I converted the guest room to serve as our dual office. We both wore nice tops in case we had to do video conferencing. Yet, we had to wear shorts to deal with where we keep the thermostat in the summer. But hey, we’d rather pocket the savings from the HVAC in the summer than overcool the house during peak heating hours. That meant that we kept the HVAC setting about 15 degrees cooler than the outside temps. But, we offset this by incorporating fans during the afternoon. We also made sure to keep the direct sunlight out so there was no ambient air heating either. Regardless, we got through it and kept our utility bill very constant. Hopefully next summer will be back to an empty house where the temperatures rise during the day. But, we sure are glad to have the extra dough that we didn’t spend on the HVAC this summer.
