My boyfriend and I have made a habit of going on one adventure a year.
By this I mean that we travel to various parts of the world to experience life away from the boring life we live in the small town where we grew up.
We don’t really have a desire to leave there because our families are there but we like taking an adventure to break up the monotony of it. We have travelled to the tropical rainforest of South Africa, the coast of Australia, and even the beaches of Jamaica, but the last trip was a mistake in my opinion. We have always been careful to book accommodations that include some sort of HVAC system. After a day of exploring we still want to come back to our room and be able to relax. Whether it is hot or cold at our destination we need to be able to get a good night’s sleep. We thought that we had done this when we left for our trip to the dessert are for a safari. The brochure stated that the rooms were cooled. I assumed that this meant that they had air conditioning. What they meant by that was that they had large ceiling fans that made it feel like you were in a hot wind storm. The windows didn’t even close in our room and were covered by heavy duty screens. This meant that the room was dusty too. We were booked there for a week and there was no sort of refund so we just had to stick it out. We found every diner and attraction that there was with air conditioning to take a break from the heat when possible.
