It’s hurricane season.

Do you know what that means? It poses a lot of threat to my home.

I like living in the south and enjoying the warm weather. However it can get a little pricy if a hurricane hits my home. I remember two years a go I had hail damage to my car. It cost me five thousand dollars; luckily my insurance covered about half of it. Not only was there damage to my car, but two trees fell onto my roof causing excessive damage to the shingles. I got in contact with a roof repair business to repair it. Not to mention small branches and brush surrounding my home. I had to contact my HVAC provider to make sure there was no damage to my condensing unit. There was a nest of brush surrounding my HVAC unit. I tried to pull some of it out but unfortunately some of it was tangled and knotted inside of the unit. I didn’t dare touch it nor did I want to cause any more damage. According to my technician he said it was a smart idea to call him. He said anything that is five feet near the unit should be removed. All of the brush from the storm that was tangled on the unit was definitely violating the five feet rule. He removed the brush and opened the condensing unit to make sure there was no other debris inside the system. I’m hoping that this hurricane that is supposed to hit doesn’t interfere with my HVAC system again.
