I’m back to flying again. But really, I sort of wish that I wasn’t. When we got sent house from the office with the zone controlled Heating, Ventilation, and A/C during the pandemic, that meant no more flying. While much of our job requires myself and others to travel to our clients, I was sort of sunk when I had to work from the a/c of house with no air travel. Even though the airlines were using HEPA filters and requiring masks, our corporation suspended air travel. That meant I had to get out on the road. At first, I was not keen on this at all. But being a bachelor, it wasn’t love I’d be living our family for extended periods. And what it would take would require being gone for weeks and weeks at a time. However, I love what I do and I was so up to the challenge. The first time I loaded up the automobile and hit the a/c was early Summer of 2020. And I instantly saw there were some advantages to traveling by car. First, the heating and cooling were much better in our automobile than in any plane I’d been in for over a decade. It was wonderful also to be able to get to where I was going without delays and cancellations. That was a large bonus as well. But I also found that the middle tier hotels along the road also were great. The price was right, there was free supper and they had the best heating and cooling of any hotel I had stayed in.
