My brother came home from work the other day with six stitches in his forehead and a black eye.

Although I knew he was hurting, I wanted to know what happened. When he told me ‌he stood up underneath the ductwork, I had to laugh. My brother was 6’6” tall, and he knew better than to stand up underneath the ductwork. It isn’t like that was the first time my brother had injured himself in the line of work. Being an HVAC technician, meant he had a lot of responsibility. Some of that responsibility was for him to be more cautious in his work. I wonder what would’ve happened if he had stood up more quickly, and ended up knocking himself out. How long would it have taken for his customers to go into the basement and check on him? He couldn’t understand why my mom and dad worried about him so much, but I could. My brother was a sweet, gentle giant who did not realize how tall or big he was. At 6’6”, and 250 pounds, he often cause little kids to hide when they saw him. He went to HVAC technical school, because he felt like it was a job that didn’t force him to be near other people. He is possibly one of the best HVAC technicians in our area. He‌ told us ‌he heard someone coming down the steps, and it startled him. He came out from behind the furnace he was working on, and when he saw the kid he tried to jump back and caught his head on the corner of the ductwork.
