When I first moved into my new apartment, there was a lot to get used to—having come from a house full of people and noise and having to share things and amenities in the place.
Now I was in my own space and did not need to share anything with anyone.
My father and my brothers had helped me move. It was such an exciting experience. The first thing I think I did when I moved in was switch on the newly installed heating device. The HVAC serviceman said that the unit would require heating maintenance only once a year. However, the ductwork was not new, so before the installation, they had to clean it and conduct duct sealing to seal a few leaks. The heating dealer advised me to get a digital thermostat since it would go well with the unit. The installation process was a one-day event, unlike when my parents had their geo heat pump installed, which took weeks. They had gone to great lengths to find the most energy-efficient heating technology in the heating industry, and we’re now pleased with their choice. I would also not have to worry about heating repair for a while, and with proper care and tune-up, I would not have to worry about breakdowns. My apartment was a cozy little corner of the world, and being an introvert, I spent most of the time in my house.
