In this part of the country we have rabid fans of high school football. Sports is a way of life to many rural folks, and around here they go wild for high school football. Does any of this sound familiar to you, or is it different where you live? I played football when I was in school, not because I liked it, just because that’s what you were supposed to do. Everyone played football or else you were labeled a weirdo. Every game there would be hundreds of adults who showed up to the game, and if it was cold they brought heaters with them. In the old days some farmers would even bring in space heaters from their barns and hook them up in the parking lot so they could tailgate. That was a whole lot of work, but when the temps get into the single digits you have to find a way to generate heating while you watch football. Over the years HVAC tech has improved so much, so the cumbersome heaters I remember are a thing of the past. The newest trend is individual heaters inside of a seat cushion. You’ve seen the thick padded seat cushions people bring to football games, right?
