I’ve done all sorts of crazy things throughout my life.
There was a long time going in which I was only interested in trying new things and traveling the world! I’ve done everything from skydiving to stand up comedy to being a tour guide to being a professional volleyball player.
That last one in particular has brought me much joy throughout my life. I’ve been playing volleyball for 30 years, and I have no intention of stopping any time soon! Lately however, I’ve settled down into a rather normal life. A few years ago, I decided that I needed to be a little more grounded, and I have to say that it’s been quite enjoyable working at my local HVAC company. I’ve been helping people with all sorts of heating and air conditioning related problems, and I’ve enjoyed troubleshooting and repairing things for them. Whether it’s a couple who recently purchased their first home and don’t know the first thing about maintaining an HVAC system, or an older gentleman who is frustrated with his smart thermostat because he thought that it was going to make his life more convenient, when in reality, it’s a piece of new technology that is far too “complicated” for him to initially comprehend, I generally love helping customers out with their problems. I suppose later on in life, when I retire, I’ll travel the world once more, though I’ll be taking it a bit easier this time around. I’m a nomad at heart, but I can’t say that it hasn’t been enjoyable having a simple job as an HVAC employee.
