Since I had grown up seeing dad at work on various HVAC units, I developed a curiosity about them. Whenever it was take-your-daughter-to-work day, I would accompany my dad to his business, where I would keenly watch what the HVAC repairman did as part of his job. I learned quite a lot about different HVAC brands and even had a favorite. To pay tribute to dad’s business, I decided to base my thesis on quality HVAC equipment. The fact that I know and understand how these quality HVAC systems function was an added advantage. Besides getting my research from the internet, I thought it would be even better to visit one of the local HVAC providers and get the information from the horse’s mouth. I singled out an HVAC professional and requested that I could join him in his day-to-day activities while asking questions about his job. They had scheduled to do an HVAC installation at a customer’s residence. The customer had already ordered the desired HVAC system, and before heading to the home, the technician acquired the new HVAC equipment, including a heat pump and a programmable thermostat. I had presented the questions I would ask the professional, but many more questions arose as we carried on with the job. The technician was beneficial in explaining the processes to me. I had collected enough information to write a thorough and factual thesis. They completed the installation to provide help with indoor comfort and further informed the customer about the HVAC maintenance requirement.
