Thankfully, since most homes were gearing up for fall and winter, getting an AC unit wasn’t challenging.

With the cooler weather approaching, I didn’t expect to have any issues with my AC unit. Considering all the record breaking temperatures and the thick humidity levels we experienced this summer, I thought my AC unit could conquer anything. Unfortunately, right before I switched off my AC unit for the year, I found out that it would be the last time I ran it. My HVAC technician was servicing my HVAC system for the second half of the year, and he noticed a few troubling things about my AC unit that I’d never realized before. First and foremost, my AC unit was over a decade old. It was worn out and the condenser unit was rusting. Second, my AC unit isn’t running efficiently anymore. I was paying a fortune for heat and air, which wasn’t practical. Lastly, the HVAC professional explained that my AC unit was so old, that if anything broke, it would cost a fortune to find the new parts in order to replace them. He suggested that I have a new AC unit installed, especially before the upcoming spring and summer months. Thankfully, since most homes were gearing up for fall and winter, getting an AC unit wasn’t challenging. Most people were on the hunt for a new furnace, which gave me the chance to pick something special. I wasn’t expecting to replace my AC unit so quickly, but I’m glad I did. When it’s time for me to switch off my furnace and run my AC unit in the spring, I’ll be thankful for my decision.
