My whole-house air purifier was smoking last night.
It was one of the scariest moments of my life to wake up to the smell of smoke in my home office.
I panicked at first. I didn’t know where the smoke was coming from! As soon as I turned the lights on as well as calmed myself, I found that the smoke was coming from my whole-house air purifier. That was super surprising to me. I never dreamed in a million years that my whole-house air purifier would cause a fire. At first, I figured that it must be the outlet that the whole-house air purifier was plugged into, however after further investigation, I found that the plug was not the issue. It was genuinely the whole-house air purifier itself that was smoking. It wasn’t the plug or the cord; it was the whole-house air purifier. I still have no idea what caused the whole-house air purifier to start smoking. I can say one thing though. It smelled genuinely bad. It smelled like something was melting inside the whole-house air purifier for sure. I am afraid to turn it back on to try to figure out what was the cause of the smoke. Of course, it is really a fantastic thing that I don’t try to turn it back on. It could burst into flames for all I know. I am going to call the business that I purchased the whole-house air purifier from today. I want to let them know that the whole-house air purifiers that they are selling are potentially dangerous as well as fire hazards. I have never even heard of an whole-house air purifier doing that. I feel there is a first for everything.
