While most people are collecting unemployment or are working from home, my job as an HVAC technician has literally never been harder. I wouldn’t have thought that it was possible to be this busy during a global pandemic when we are all supposed to be staying at home. However, since I am an HVAC technician, I finally realized what it meant for everyone to be at home all day with nothing to do. While it seems like a dream come true to be able to stay at home all day without working, it isn’t great. Eventually, people start to get bored and uncomfortable, and they feel like they have nothing to do. It is at this point that people begin to notice their HVAC units. When you are gone all day at work, it is hard to notice that your furnace isn’t working properly or your central air conditioner isn’t cooling your house down very well. We have been receiving calls from people all over the city that need to have their HVAC units fixed, and I have been busier than I ever thought possible. Also, since the government told people that HEPA air filters can prevent the spread of this virus, there are so many people that have been calling the HVAC company and asking us to change the air filter in their HVAC unit. While air filters are very easy to fix, it is hard to find nicer air filters now, and it takes a lot of driving to get to so many houses. The HVAC technicians in our company have been working overtime, and it is getting very hard.
