I have been seriously thinking of adding a humidifier to my house.

I own a smart thermostat and it tells me the humidity levels in my home.

I don’t know what a good humidity level is but 40% can’t be it. Sometimes my air quality will get down to 28%. Surprisingly I do notice the difference. I have real trouble with static shock and cling. I also have been getting dry hands and chapped lips. The dry indoor air quality also feels so much colder. I am spending a fortune trying to heat my house to make up for it. I looked online and I am not too happy with my options though. So you can get a humidifier that sits in your house separate from the HVAC. Your options are a smaller, sleeker and more attractive unit that can only do a single bedroom. If you want a humidifier to handle the whole home, it needs to be a giant, ugly box. I think I would rather have the humidifier be installed right into the HVAC unit. That way it is out of sight and out of mind. The problem is that I would need to call a HVAC company to do this. Rather than buy the product on amazon and plug it in, I would need an appointment, buy their humidifier and pay for the installation. The system and the appointment would be so much more money. Am I willing to pay this to not have a humidifier sitting around my home? I won’t even use it all year either.
