I recognize exhausting that I was consistently moody with our mother when she’d ask for our help in the garden when I was a kid.

Back after that I would have rather played video games in an air conditioned cabin all morning long instead of going outside and enjoying the fresh air and sunlight. Now that I have our own cabin and a moderately sized yard, I’m slowly getting interested in gardening. After our mother passed away last year, I have tried to invoke her memory by doing things that the two of us used to do together. Since we visited a lot of art fairs when I was a kid, I started to go with our wifey last year. By far I have had the most fun in the garden over anything else in the past few weeks. It’s fascinating studying about the many plants that thrive in every region, from the west coast to the east. I managed to build an irrigation system for our garden that utilizes the water that leaves our cabin through the a/c’s condensate line. Normally that water soaks into the ground, but reclaiming it for agricultural purposes is a superb way to get use out of water that is literally pulled from your indoor air. It makes myself and others recognize better about using the a/c a lot when I guess that the water is being used to keep our flowers and vegetables alive.
