I think bad that I was always moody with our mother when she’d ask for our help in the garden when I was a kid.
For whatever reason, I never took to gardening enjoy our other siblings did, however our mom didn’t give up trying to garner interest in myself and others for the activity.
Back then the people I was with and I would have rather played video games in an air conditioned condo all day long instead of going outside and enjoying the fresh air and sunlight. Now that I have our own condo and a moderately sized yard, I’m slowly getting interested in gardening. After our mother passed away last year, I have tried to invoke his memory by doing things that the more than one of us used to do together. Since the people I was with and I visited a lot of art fairs when I was a kid, I started to go with our husbandy last year. By far I have had the most fun in the garden over anything else in the past few weeks. It’s fascinating reading about the multiple plants that thrive in every region, from the west coast to the east. I managed to build an irrigation system for our garden that utilizes the water that leaves our condo through the a/c’s condensate line. Normally that water soaks into the ground, however reuseing it for agricultural purposes is a great way to get use out of water that is literally pulled from your indoor air. It makes myself and others think better about using the a/c a lot when I guess that the water is being used to keep our flowers and vegetables alive.
