For some crazy reason, the builders of my household never installed an exhaust fan on the ceiling.

It’s a small washroom, which means the humidity gets trapped whenever someone chooses to take a shower.

In the beginning, I thought this was a minor setback, however, over time I’ve realized that the lack of an exhaust fan is going to cost me a huge amount of cash. Without a regular exhaust fan to remove the heat and humidity from the air, mold and mildew will easily start to grow, and there will regularly be condensation lining the walls. I contacted my local Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device provider and asked them if they could send someone to my household to discuss the humidity setback I was having. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C professional agreed that an exhaust fan was definitely needed because it was the only way to successfully remove the moisture. I assumed an exhaust fan would be a simple and reasonably priced replacement, however I was stunned to learn how extravagant it would be. Not only did I require the fan, however I also needed a backdraft damper where the ductwork from the exhaust fan was exiting the household. This would allow the heat and humidity created in the washroom to exit hastily and safely. The backdraft damper would prevent anything from outside the household coming in and causing any sort of complications. Not only did I need to purchase the backdraft damper with the exhaust fan, however I also had to pay for labor. The price added up rather speedily just to keep my washroom safe from mold and mildew.
