Some people think that these bulbs are just there to clean the air moving through the machine, but their primary purpose is to prevent any microbial content from growing inside the machine

Having chronic allergies is a frustrating burden some days. Although I once lived in a climate with few airborne allergens, my current home is located in a swamp. We have everything from tree pollen to black mold particles floating through the outdoor air at any given moment. Since it’s the south the high heat leads to more fungal and bacterial growth in both wet and dry vegetation. I have kept wearing an N95 mask after getting vaccinated because it actually helps filter a lot of allergens whenever I’m out in public. My breathing has improved as a result, but these masks aren’t perfect. And since I don’t want to wear one at home, that means it’s especially important to me to maintain clean indoor air. Aside from cleaning regularly, I also have an air purifier in my living room with a charcoal filter for odors, a HEPA filter for microparticles, and a UV bulb for general sanitization. This machine is amazing at cleaning my indoor air, but I also have to take measures to protect the inside of my central air conditioner so it doesn’t grow mold inside. The evaporator coil gets really well while the air conditioner is running, which can be a prime location for fungal growth. You can easily prevent this by installing UV bulbs inside your air conditioner. Some people think that these bulbs are just there to clean the air moving through the machine, but their primary purpose is to prevent any microbial content from growing inside the machine. And they’re fantastic at doing exactly that since they’re left on 24 hours a day.
