When I moved into my new house, I was thrilled about the sunroom.
I fell in love with the sunroom when I first saw the pictures of the house online and it was actually the reason I chose to put an offer in on the house. Before closing on the house, I dreamt about the sunroom and how I was going to utilize it all year round. Upon moving in, my love for the sunroom lasted a few weeks. However, the summer heat was increasing every day and the sun added extra warmth to the space naturally. Even with a portable fan running, the sunroom was uncomfortable and I couldn’t use it. I felt really discouraged because I was looking forward to relaxing in the sunroom often, but here I was not using it because it was too hot. It made me sad to think about how I probably wouldn’t get to use the sunroom during the winter either, because there was no heat to keep it warm. This is when I decided to install a ductless mini split system! It was the easiest and most energy efficient way to heat and cool the sunroom without having to connect my ductwork to the space. The ductless mini split system could be turned on when I was using the space and it could be turned off when I wasn’t around. Once I purchased the ductless mini split system, I called the HVAC company and hired an HVAC professional to come install it for me. I wanted to make sure it was properly installed before using it.
