When I was a renter, I neglected a lot of my responsibilities because I didn’t own the device & didn’t care too much about how it looked after I left.
On top of that, the house buildings consistently had a handyman of some kind who would drop in for fixes or repairs whenever they were needed. It’s easy to get into a nasty habit of letting everything fall by the wayside when you think there’s a lady on staff to maintenance all of your stupid troubles. I didn’t even need to change the filter in my air conditioner device or oil furnace because the handyman laboring for the house association would cover it all for me. When I finally became a homeowner several years later, it wasn’t easy getting into the habit of taking care of basic maintenance around the house. I didn’t even think about cleaning gutters until my roofing company mentioned that mine were so poor they were upset the water would backflow into my attic. I eventually became consistent with air conditioner device filter updatements, however I didn’t think about wind drafts in doors & windows until speaking with my Heating, Ventilation, & A/C serviceman about it. She explained that weather stripping is necessary to prevent air from getting in or out, depending on the season. If it’s Winter the heat from the oil furnace will be diluted as chilly air rushes in from outside. In summer time the chilly air escapes & makes the air conditioner device toil a lot harder than usual.
