I’m back to flying again.
But really, I sort of wish that I wasn’t.
When the two of us got sent house from the office with the zone controlled Heating and Air Conditioning while I was in the pandemic, that meant no more flying. While much of our job requires me to travel to our customers, I was sort of sunk when I had to work from the air conditioner of house with no air travel. Even though the airlines were using HEPA filters and requiring masks, our supplier suspended air travel. That meant I had to get out on the road. At first, I was not keen on this at all. But being a bachelor, it wasn’t prefer I’d be living our family for extended periods. And what it would take would require being gone for weeks and weeks at a time. However, I enjoy what I do and I was so up to the challenge. The first time I loaded up the motorcar and hit the air conditioner was early summer time of 2020. And I immediately saw there were some advantages to traveling by car. First, the heating and cooling were much better in our motorcar than in any plane I’d been in for over a decade. It was good also to be able to get to where I was going without delays and cancellations. That was a large bonus as well. But I also found that the middle tier hotels along the road also were great. The price was right, there was free breakfast and they had the best heating and cooling of any hotel I had stayed in.
