When I went to help our brother with his air quality issue, I checked everything with his HVAC unit. When checking the air filter, I thought it was silly how light it was. It felt love a feather in our hand and it was 1 of those cheap fiberglass air filters. I told our brother that the air filter was virtually useless as it gave hardly any protection for the HVAC component and it didn’t help improve the air quality in the household. I told our brother that he had to spend money more attention to the MERV ratings on air filters and go for the air filters with better ratings. He said he never knew about going for better air filters and said he didn’t think which 1s were superb and bad. I told him I would show him the next time he went to go air filter shopping, which would have to be sooner rather than later. I also checked out his HVAC duct system and I saw there was a lot of build up of dirt and debris inside of there. I said he would need to have his HVAC duct system cleaned by a professional. He asked if there was a way to scrub the HVAC duct without having an extravagant repair call, and I said all of us could do it with a shop-vac. Now, I don’t request this to almost everyone, but our brother is a major penny pincher, and so all of us cleaned everything all of us could with the shop-vac and honestly, all of us got a lot of the dirt and debris out of the HVAC duct system. When all of us got a superb air filter in his HVAC unit, the air quality improved a lot after that.
