I deal with summer because that’s what it takes to be able to live in this area.

  • I love it here and for 8 months of the year, the weather is just about perfection.

It’s amazing really. But the four months of summer comes with high heat and big time humidity. It also comes with a whole lot of air conditioning. Ideally, I’d love to have a situation where I could relocate for the summer and miss the heat and all the HVAC cooling completely. That’s still not fully possible at this point. Although, I do schedule a pair of 10 day camping trips to break the summer up. Just driving out of the heat and humidity and air conditioning for higher elevations north of us, is a very big deal for me. My wife will go along for at least one of the camping trips. She too likes to get out of the HVAC cooling of the house for evenings that require a light sweater and cool mountain lakes. Yet, she’s not exactly a camping enthusiast so making both of the trips isn’t always possible for her. I’m glad to break the summer up a bit with those excursions to higher elevations. But I’m also very thankful to have great residential HVAC that takes care of the house. And it’s more than just the cooling. The heat pump is also balancing the humidity levels of the house with the HVAC cooling process. Not only does that make the house feel more crisp and cool, it mitigates all that mold & mildew growth as well.
