I got a job at a hardware store a couple years ago.
It’s actually been quite enjoyable because I get a lot of exercise in.
I also get to talk to all sorts of different kinds of people from all walks of life. Some of them are handymen who seem to think they know more about the job than I do. Others really do require my help and assistance with various hardware items. One of the things that we sell at the hardware store is our air filters. A strange thing happened when it came to these air filters recently. In a single day, nearly every last one of our air filters sold out! We had plenty of stock, and yet they were all gone within a matter of hours. To this day, I’m not sure why on Earth every one and their grandma suddenly needed an air filter for their HVAC system. There were all sorts of people coming in for those air filters, so it wasn’t like it was one guy making off with the whole lot! I had to make calls to ensure that our air filters were restocked for the next day, or at least as soon as possible. I hung up the phone and I thought about what might have caused the sudden demand for the air filters. I suggested to the manager that we put them on sale the next day. Maybe they would sell even faster that way. I mean, after all, we were turning quite the profit on these air filters. Once we got the new air filters in stock, I made sure to purchase a few of them for myself, because my HVAC system genuinely needed them!
