I work at one of the hardware stores in my town.
I have to say in the four years that I’ve worked there, I never really have witnessed anything particularly unusual. Things go just about the way you would expect him to go. I make my rounds, helping customers with the various questions they may have regarding home or business projects. I get the ones that seem to be quite knowledgeable and know just exactly what they want to do and what they want in the store. Then, I get other customers that need a considerable amount of help with projects they clearly have never attempted to tackle before. One thing I never saw until recently, was one particular item selling out in just one single day. That item was air filters. For whatever reason, one day recently, everyone and their grandpa came out of the woodwork to purchase air filters. Nearly every shopping buggy in line had air filters in it. It truly was a strange experience! At the end of the day, I came to discover that our air filters were entirely out of stock. I had to make phone calls to make sure that we would get a fresh supply as soon as possible. To this day, I’m not entirely sure what happened that day or why everybody suddenly needed air filters so desperately. Me and some of the managers figured that people might be back for more, so we put them on sale hoping that we would turn yet another profit. I actually grabbed a few myself for my own HVAC system!
