My personal history with the local gym is not a love story by any stretch.

Up until recently, it’s been a love-hate tale.

I loved being in shape but I hated going to the local gym. I seemed like such a great idea when I got that gym membership and felt the initial benefits of a workout program. But, I quickly lost interest and motivation. Before too long, I just wasn’t into it at all. Plus, there just wasn’t all that much at the local gym that garnered my interest. I didn’t have a workout plan or any sort of personal fitness training. I just showed up and got on machines after observing other people working out. This is not the optimum way to get value from your gym membership. Then there was the drive. I had to go all the way across town to get to this gym and it was not convenient at all. But this would soon change when our corporate wellness program changed up. I no longer had to go to just that gym. The new corporate wellness program roll out included the ability to go to any local gym that I chose. So that meant I could get a gym membership at a place that was literally just a few blocks from my house. Now, I could stop at the health and fitness center on my way to or from work. This fit perfectly in my routine. Plus, the new place I joined had so many workout programs that I found to be incredibly interesting and enjoyable. Now, I have a love-love relationship with my health and fitness center!
