My wife reminded me recently that we needed to look for some furnace filters on sale.
Unfortunately last winter, we had an issue with the heating system that could have been avoided had I only remembered to replace the furnace filter.
The furnace filter was completely clogged up and it caused a great deal of strain on the HVAC system. Since we had emergency repairs done which cost a small fortune, my wife has been very strict about keeping up with the necessary HVAC system maintenance. I mean ultimately this is a good thing because she won’t let anything slide. So I was happy when I managed to find some quality furnace filters with a high MERV rating that’s good enough for people with severe allergies. I have noticed that our air quality has been a lot nicer since the furnace filter change and the heating system is running efficiently. I also had an HVAC professional come out for a heating system tune-up before we started using the heating system at the beginning of the winter months. My wife would not have let us move forward without that heating system tune-up, and she is right for that. If I wasn’t so careless before or if she was always so adamant with the HVAC maintenance, we never would have had to pay a small fortune for that emergency repair work last winter season. What can I say though, you learn from your mistakes. She definitely is my rock though and I appreciate her for all she does for this family through the good and bad times.
