I like using air fresheners, candles, and essential oils to make my house smell wonderful.

Sometimes I order hand rolled incense off the internet to burn as well, since many varieties have such a wonderful smell.

Although my home doesn’t have issues with odors, it’s still nice to add new aromas to the air throughout. Cooking regularly is a good way of making your home smell wonderful without the need of anything else, especially harmful synthetic air fresheners. It also gives me another excuse to avoid eating out more than once or twice a month, which makes budgeting much easier on a limited income. But sometimes I get thrown off if a random odor appears out of nowhere. This happened when the air admittance valve failed under my kitchen sink, which allows water to drain without a ceiling vent, while keeping any sewer gases from getting back into the house. These fail after so many years of continual use, and then you’ll start to slowly smell sewer gases afterward. Once I had a new air admittance valve installed under the kitchen sink, I noticed that there was still a different odor in the house. When I determined that it was the air conditioner, I was immediately worried something was malfunctioning so I called our heating and cooling technician. He inspected our air handler and said that the evaporator coil simply needed to be cleaned. There was some fungal growth on the metal coil, and it created a noticeable odor in the house whenever the air conditioner was running. Thankfully, I have this problem under control after my technician cleaned my a/c evaporator coil.
